The {Complete} Design Process

It’s not all before & after’s around here…

You often hear that social media is everyone’s highlight reel. “Don’t compare your life or your business to others’ based on what you see online!” At Eastman Cartwright Home, we’d like to capture that sentiment and reincarnate it for the interior design process. It is so easy to become engrossed with a designer based on the transformation they can accomplish with before & after photos, but is anyone talking about the process it took to get there?

We are!

When you work with our team of designers, we don’t sugarcoat the process. In fact, we prefer to get down in the messy, dirty trenches with you in order to accomplish the most unique and *true-to-YOU* results. We agree that a designer should be hired for their good taste, but we also believe it’s equally important to capture your unique style in your space.

Designers are more than decorators or visionaries. We complete the necessary measurements and configuration for the space. We account for functionality, color schemes, client budget, style of the home, and so much more. Although we are not physically doing the work, our presence is important in each stage of execution. We are interior designers who specialize in project management. This detail ensures the job runs smoothly without any miscommunication.

One

From the initial walk-thru to the final product, so many moving pieces are happening in between. Once the client’s design style is identified, our team is on the hunt behind the scenes! Mood boards are established for each space based on items found within budget. From furniture and art to hardware and flooring, no detail is too big or too small.

Two

We then create detailed design renderings using our online software to give clients an exact idea of what the pieces will look like in their space. As selections are confirmed and ordered, pieces begin to fall into place. Items are often backordered anywhere from 8-14 weeks, and while this adds a layer of patience to the process, work is still happening on the home front. Whether it is a new construction, a remodel, or simply a room makeover, plans are being made for how each item will fit into the new equation. As your designer, it is our job to ensure that contractors are laying the proper ground work to accomplish the design we have established. We are your advocates for ensuring a timeless result that you will be happy with. For this reason, frequent check-ins are necessary.

Three

As items begin to arrive, the Eastman Cartwright Home team does quality inspections on each item before installation. Once approved, we oversee the process to ensure every detail is accounted for. Because we are experts in this industry and have done this countless times, we know just what to look for so that no future issues arise once the entire process is complete.

Four

We are just as excited as each of our clients to see these renderings come to life. It is our passion to create timeless designs unique to our clients, and nothing feels better than watching your space become your home. As a client, the construction and design process can feel incredibly stressful with the unexpected timelines, important ongoing communication, and so many moving pieces. However, with our team in your corner, we are confident you’ll see fewer hiccups and greater results. We’re honored to have a hand in the process.
