Mod office makeover
Welcome to this modern office. Connor Wienkes, one of our local favorites and owner of the Fuel House in Lancaster contacted me about her home space office, and I was stoked. She is such a go getter, leader and her work is so much heart I felt privileged to help create this room.
Later that week I met her at her apartment and we began to collaborate. What would be your perfect office?... I asked as she smiled big! White, Clean, Organized, Modern, Funtional. I smiled back. What is your favorite color besides white? Green! I began to measure her room that was already being occupied by current furniture as I questioned Is there anything in here you would love to keep or use? Not really she replied.. These things are not really my style anymore. I then began to understand more about what she wanted. How do you feel about paint? I can’t paint because I’m renting but she was all in for a peel and stick wallpaper if an option. You know me, wallpaper is always an option.
I went back to the office and began to create. As I looked around the store one piece popped out immediately but was the wrong color. It was a white wood bookshelf that would fill the wall beautifully and only take $599 of my budget! The only problem, it was silver! I began looking for similar images on the web to create a visual layout for Connor to see the look in gold. It was a go! So I had the guys take apart the bookshelf and I began spray paint. Thats really where it all began! I messaged Connor for approval and began to purchase and special order her pieces.
Only two weeks later I was installing her peel and stick wallpaper and delivering her dream office! I was so excited for her to see the space. Over the course of the two weeks I had searched her Instagram for personalized photos and reached out to create the beginning of her wall gallery with the help of Alan VanNatta at our awesome local print shop Grantland Graphics. I personally know that I get inspired by things around me and the people that I love while I work, so I also wanted Connors office to fill her with that same positive energy. So needless to say gold, green, pictures of her daughter and inspiration was a must! I reached out and asked her to send me her two favorite quotes. Alan printed them on beautiful green and white paper to fit the photo frames I found in my store that I spray painted to match!
Instillation day had approached and it was time to bring her vision to life! As I stacked her books, and filled the vases and shelves with tiny touches of green. The room began to soften. White can be really cold feeling so I warmed it up with creams, golds and greens. From her sofa to her rattan plug in light fixture. The color of the carpet began to blend and the room perfectly came together! I had such a wonderful time working on this room space and left with a full heart and wishes for Connors continued success.
