Our Favorite Fall Decor: Tips From the Pros

It’s no secret around here: We love fall. Who doesn’t? One of the best parts about fall is all the fun you can have decorating your home and preparing it for the coziest season of the year. We’ve asked our pros for their favorite tips this season. What are you eager to try?

Linda says: Play with texture

Mix velvets and chunky knits for a cozy look.

One of the benefits of cooler temps is all the texture you can incorporate in your home. Velvets, faux furs, chunky knits. Mix it up with your pillows and throws. Pick a color palette and play off that with different shades. Incorporate patterns like delicate block stamp florals to add interest.

Amy says: Bring the outdoors in

Incorporate fall touches in your home using natural elements, either real or faux. Don’t underestimate the power a few simple stems can imbue. Look for natural shades of wine, brown, khaki, and burnt orange. You can even forage in your own yard for dried branches or along roadsides for long grasses or late season wildflowers (just make sure it’s not private property).

Bring in pops of color and natural elements for a polished, professional look.

Laura says: Bring in that pop of color

Orange isn’t the only color of the season, although it does give you plenty of shades to work with. Err on the side of natural oranges for a more professional look. The hottest colors this season come in shades of wine and deep greens. The best part is, these colors play well into November so you can get more out of your seasonal décor.
